    Description

Up for auction a charming hand crafted  cross stitch stocking.  It is a charming picture of a little boy WITH HIS PET DUCK ALL READY FOR cHRISTMAS.
This is from the Needle Treasures Collection and is designed by Ruth Moorehead. It is colorart cross stitch which means that the picture is printed on to aida fabric and then embellished with stitches. With this stocking the holly at the top, on his hat and at the toe are down with cross stitch as is his scarf, cuff and bow on the goose..
At the top it reads "SETH". These cross stitches can be easily removed and replaced with your own personalized name. I certainly would be willing to remove these stitches and personalize it with a name of your choice. The name, however, would have to be at least 4 letters so that this would cover the previous letters.
The size is 10" x 16 1/2". It has red piping around the outside and the back is finished with red felt. It is completely lined.  On the inside of the stocking there is a label indicating that this was a sales model  for kit number 02831 and the name was Little Christmas Lad.
Included in the listing is a picture of a kit for this stocking which is shown for reference only as this stocking does not come with a kit. Here is the information on it:
JCA Needle Treasures Christmas Stocking Cross Stitch Kit Boy & Duck

It is from the Needle Treasures Collection and is is designed by Ruth Moorehead.
This  was a hand crafted model to a  kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished.
I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:
"Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely.
We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years.
JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns. We are an amalgamation of three companies-Paternayan Brothers (started in 1939), Elsa Williams (started in 1960) and Reynolds Yarns (also started in 1960)."
